How domains work at ClientVPS
You search for a name on the domain page, see its registration and renewal prices, and pay with cryptocurrency or your account balance. The domain then appears in your client area, where you set its nameservers and DNS records.
ID Protection replaces your details in the public WHOIS with privacy contact details. The registry and the registrar still hold your real details.
What it does not mean
- ID Protection is not anonymity towards the registry: your real details are still required and held there.
- A transfer is not free: it is paid at the transfer price, which for most generic domains includes one more year.
Not to be confused with
- Registration
- Taking a domain name that nobody holds.
- Transfer
- Moving a domain you already hold from another registrar, using its EPP code.
