NVMe VPS Hosting

Most of our VPS plans keep your data on NVMe SSDs, which handle many small reads and writes at once with less delay than SATA SSDs. This page lists only the plans with NVMe storage.

Why NVMe storage matters

NVMe drives connect over PCIe instead of the older SATA interface. They work on many requests in parallel, so each read or write waits less.

The difference shows when a server makes many small reads and writes at once: databases, online shops, package builds, search indexes and busy WordPress sites. For mostly static files, any SSD is fast enough.

Our NVMe plans are in Germany, Finland, the USA and Singapore. Our other locations use SATA SSD; those plans say SSD and are not listed here.

NVMe compared with SATA SSD

Both are solid-state drives. The interface is what differs.

What NVMe storage speeds up

Databases

MySQL, PostgreSQL and MongoDB answer queries faster when they read from disk.

Dynamic websites

Shops and content sites that query a database on every page load serve pages sooner.

Builds and installs

Compiling code, installing packages and running test suites spend less time waiting for the disk.

Search and logs

Search indexes and log collectors write many small pieces of data at once.

Reserved cores too

Our dedicated-vCPU plans also use NVMe storage, for servers that are busy all day.

Who an NVMe VPS suits

Online shops

WooCommerce, Magento and other stores with many products and orders.

Database servers

A database of its own for your applications, or replicas of one.

CI and build servers

Runners that check out, build and test code many times a day.

Game servers

Servers that save large worlds and player data while they run.

When NVMe is not what you need

You need a server in another country

Our other locations use SATA SSD, which is fast enough for most websites, VPNs and proxies.

Your server is busy all day

Under constant processor load, reserved cores matter as much as the disk.

NVMe VPS FAQ

Are all ClientVPS plans NVMe?

No: most are. Our plans in Germany, Finland, the USA and Singapore use NVMe, and the other locations use SATA SSD. Each plan shows its storage type.

How do I see which storage a plan has?

The disk line of every plan says NVMe or SSD, on this page and on the order page.

Is NVMe more expensive?

There is no surcharge: the storage type is part of each plan, and the price you see is the full price.

Is the disk space mine alone?

Yes. The space in your plan is your server's. As on any VPS, the physical drives in the host serve several virtual machines.

Which NVMe plan should I start with?

For a single website or small shop, 2 vCPU and 4 GB of memory are a good start. For a database or a busy shop, choose 4 vCPU or more, or a dedicated-vCPU plan.
