What is a dedicated server?
10 Gbps dedicated servers have a network port ten times faster than the usual 1 Gbps, for workloads that move large amounts of data. Port speed and traffic terms are listed on each configuration.
A dedicated server is a whole physical machine rented to you alone. Its processor, memory, disks and network port are not shared with other customers, so performance stays the same whatever anyone else is doing.
You get full root or administrator access and decide the operating system, software and security settings. It suits workloads that have outgrown a VPS, need predictable performance, or need large amounts of memory and storage on one machine.
Who needs a dedicated server?
Video streaming
Serve many viewers at once without the port becoming the bottleneck.
Downloads and software mirrors
Deliver large files and updates quickly to many users.
CDN and caching nodes
Run your own edge cache for websites and media.
Backup and replication
Copy terabytes between servers in hours instead of days.
Game and software distribution
Push large patches and game files at launch time.
Data pipelines
Move large datasets in and out for processing and analytics.
Dedicated server or VPS?
| What matters | VPS | Dedicated server |
|---|---|---|
| Hardware | A share of a physical server | The whole physical server |
| Performance | Good, can vary with other customers' load | Consistent: nothing else runs on it |
| Resources | Typically up to tens of GB of RAM | Up to hundreds of GB of RAM and many large disks |
| Setup time | Minutes | Minutes to hours, depending on the location |
| Price | Lower | Higher, for much more capacity |
| Best for | Websites, bots, VPNs and small apps | Heavy, steady or memory-hungry workloads |
Which configuration do you need?
| What you run | Typical configuration |
|---|---|
| Streaming or downloads | 10 Gbps port, NVMe for hot files |
| CDN or cache node | 10 Gbps port, 64 GB RAM or more |
| Replication target | 10 Gbps port with large disks |

Dedicated server FAQ
Where are 10 Gbps servers available?
The configurations on this page are the ones with 10 Gbps ports; each shows its location. Availability changes as servers are added.
Is the traffic unmetered?
Traffic terms differ between configurations and are written on each plan. Check the port and bandwidth lines before you order.
Do I need 10 Gbps?
Only if you regularly send or receive more than about 1 Gbps. Most websites, databases and game servers are well served by a 1 Gbps port.
What is the difference between a dedicated server and a VPS?
A VPS is a virtual machine that shares a physical server with others. A dedicated server is the whole physical machine, so all its CPU, memory, disks and network capacity are yours.
How fast is a dedicated server delivered?
Auction servers are ordered and set up automatically: the datacenter hands the machine over within minutes to a few hours, then the system is installed. Other configurations are set up by our team; each location shows its delivery time, up to 72 hours.
Is there a setup fee?
Some configurations have a one-time setup fee, shown on the plan before you order; many have none. Use the free-setup filter to see only those.
Can I install Windows Server?
Yes. In Finland, Germany and the USA we can install the Windows Server evaluation (trial) version at no charge; to keep using it after the trial, activate it with your own licence. In the Netherlands, Windows Server is available with a licence for $25 a month, added at checkout. Linux is available in every location.
What if my server stops responding?
You can reboot it remotely and use a remote console to fix it. The exact tools depend on the location; open a support ticket and we will help.
Is DDoS protection included?
Yes, 200 Gbps of DDoS protection is included. If you need more, 1 Tbps ($20/month), 1.5 Tbps ($35/month) or 2 Tbps ($40/month) can be added at checkout.
Which payment methods do you accept?
Cryptocurrency through our payment gateways, or your ClientVPS account balance. You can pay monthly, quarterly or yearly; yearly billing saves 15%.
Can I cancel, and are dedicated servers refundable?
You can cancel at any time from your client area. Cancellation is immediate: the server and its data are deleted at once. As our Terms of Service explain, dedicated servers are not refundable.
