NemoClaw VPS Hosting

Run NemoClaw from NVIDIA on a VPS with the memory it needs: it installs a sandboxed OpenClaw agent, connects your model provider and keeps the agent contained in its own environment. Instant deployment, full root access and DDoS protection.

What is NemoClaw VPS hosting?

NemoClaw is NVIDIA's tool for running AI agents in a sandbox. Its installer sets up an OpenClaw agent inside an isolated container environment, connects the model provider you choose, such as NVIDIA Endpoints, OpenAI, Anthropic or OpenRouter, and gives you commands to connect, check status and read logs.

Because it runs containers, NemoClaw needs more memory and disk than most agents. A NemoClaw VPS gives it dedicated resources on a server that is always on. We provide the server; you install NemoClaw and bring your model keys.

Why run NemoClaw on a VPS

Enough memory for the sandbox

NemoClaw needs at least 8 GB of RAM; many laptops already use most of that.

Two layers of isolation

The agent runs in NemoClaw's sandbox, on a VPS that is separate from your own computer.

Always on

Your agent and its chat connections keep running when your computer is off.

Fast image downloads

Container images download quickly over a datacenter connection.

What you can do with a NemoClaw VPS

A sandboxed personal assistant

Run OpenClaw with an extra layer of isolation around its tools.

Testing agent guardrails

Try policies and permissions before using an agent with real data.

Comparing model providers

Switch between NVIDIA Endpoints, OpenAI, Anthropic and others.

Team experiments

Give a team one shared, contained environment to evaluate agents.

How to set up NemoClaw on your VPS

Commands follow the official documentation as of October 2026. Tools like this change quickly, so check the official docs linked below before you run them.

  1. 1

    Deploy a server and connect

Choose a plan with Ubuntu 24.04. When it is ready, connect over SSH with the IP address and password from your client area, and update the system.

    ssh root@YOUR_SERVER_IP
apt update && apt upgrade -y
  2. 2

Create a user for the agent

Create a normal user with sudo rights, then sign in again over SSH as that user, so the services you install run under it. Add your SSH public key to /home/agent/.ssh/authorized_keys to log in with a key.

    adduser agent
    usermod -aG sudo agent
    exit
    ssh agent@YOUR_SERVER_IP
  3. 3

    Turn on the firewall

Allow SSH first, then enable the firewall. Dashboards stay on localhost, so no other ports are needed.

    sudo ufw allow OpenSSH
    sudo ufw enable
  4. 4

    Install Docker

Install Docker with Docker's official script and add your user to the docker group. That group has root-level power, so add only trusted accounts. Sign out and back in afterwards.

curl -fsSL https://get.docker.com | sudo sh
    sudo usermod -aG docker $USER
    sudo apt install -y binutils
  5. 5

    Install NemoClaw

Run NVIDIA's installer as your normal user, without sudo. It can install a suitable Node.js if needed.

    curl -fsSL https://www.nvidia.com/nemoclaw.sh | bash
  6. 6

    Create your sandbox

Onboarding creates the sandbox and asks for your model provider and API key.

    nemoclaw onboard
  7. 7

    Connect and check status

Use the sandbox name you chose during onboarding.

    nemoclaw my-assistant connect
    nemoclaw my-assistant status
    nemoclaw my-assistant logs --follow

Security basics for NemoClaw on a VPS

  • Add only trusted accounts to the docker group, because it grants root-level access to the server.
  • Let NemoClaw manage its own sandbox and OpenShell components instead of updating them by hand.
  • Sign in with SSH keys and turn off password logins.
  • Run the agent as a normal user, not as root.
  • Turn on a firewall and open only the ports you need, usually just SSH.
  • Keep dashboards on localhost and reach them through an SSH tunnel instead of opening them to the internet.
  • Store API keys in the tool's own config or environment files, never in a Git repository.
  • Give the agent its own API keys with spending limits, and rotate them if you suspect a leak.
  • Install security updates regularly and reboot after kernel updates.
  • Back up the agent's data directory before upgrades and big changes.

Troubleshooting

Out-of-memory errors during setup

Pushing the sandbox image can exceed 8 GB of RAM. NVIDIA suggests adding at least 8 GB of swap, or choose a 16 GB plan.

Permission denied for Docker

Sign out and back in after adding your user to the docker group.

Onboarding was interrupted

Resume where it stopped with nemoclaw onboard --resume.

Installer cannot verify OpenShell

Install binutils, which provides the strings tool the installer uses.

When you don't need a NemoClaw VPS

You want the smallest, cheapest setup

NemoClaw needs at least 8 GB of RAM. If you don't need its sandbox, plain OpenClaw runs on a 4 GB plan.

OpenClaw VPS guide

You want to run models on NVIDIA GPUs

Our VPS plans have no GPU, so use hosted model providers rather than local inference.

NemoClaw VPS FAQ

Can I run NemoClaw on a VPS?

Yes. NVIDIA lists Linux with Docker as a tested platform and validates Ubuntu 24.04, which you can deploy on every plan on this page.

Do I need a GPU?

No, not when you use hosted providers such as NVIDIA Endpoints, OpenAI, Anthropic or OpenRouter. Local inference with vLLM is meant for NVIDIA hardware.

How much memory does NemoClaw need?

NVIDIA lists 4 vCPU, 8 GB of RAM and 20 GB of free disk as the minimum, and 16 GB of RAM with 40 GB of disk as recommended.

How is NemoClaw different from OpenClaw?

OpenClaw is the assistant itself. NemoClaw installs and runs it inside a sandbox, adding isolation at the cost of more memory and disk.

Do I need to run the installer as root?

No. NVIDIA's installer runs as your normal user. Docker must be installed and running first.

Which plan should I choose?

8 GB of RAM is the minimum. For daily use choose 16 GB, which also avoids memory errors while the sandbox image is set up.

Does ClientVPS provide API keys or model access?

No. We provide the server. NemoClaw uses your own account with a provider such as NVIDIA Endpoints, OpenAI, Anthropic or OpenRouter, and you pay the provider directly.

Do you install and run the agent for me?

No. Our VPS plans are self-managed: you install Docker and NemoClaw yourself and create the sandbox with nemoclaw onboard. The setup steps above show each command.

How can I pay?

The NemoClaw VPS plans on this page start at … a month on yearly billing, which saves 15%, or … a month paid monthly. You pay in cryptocurrency, such as Bitcoin, USDT and Monero, or from your ClientVPS account balance, and you only need an email address to sign up.

Ready to run NemoClaw around the clock?

Pick a plan, deploy Ubuntu in minutes and follow the guide above. Pay with crypto or your account balance.
