What is a dedicated server?
Windows dedicated servers run Windows Server on a whole physical machine. In Finland, Germany and the USA we install the Windows Server evaluation (trial) version at no charge and you add your own licence; in the Netherlands, a licence is available for $25 a month at checkout.
A dedicated server is a whole physical machine rented to you alone. Its processor, memory, disks and network port are not shared with other customers, so performance stays the same whatever anyone else is doing.
You get full root or administrator access and decide the operating system, software and security settings. It suits workloads that have outgrown a VPS, need predictable performance, or need large amounts of memory and storage on one machine.
Who needs a dedicated server?
Windows-only applications
Run desktop or server software that has no Linux version.
.NET and IIS
Host ASP.NET sites and services on IIS.
SQL Server
Give Microsoft SQL Server the memory and disks of a whole machine.
Remote desktops
Work on a powerful Windows machine over Remote Desktop.
Trading platforms
Keep trading terminals and bots running around the clock.
Testing on Windows
Evaluate Windows Server before you buy a licence.

Dedicated server FAQ
Is a Windows licence included?
Not in Finland, Germany and the USA: there we install the Windows Server evaluation (trial) version, and to keep using it after the trial you activate it with a licence you obtain yourself. In the Netherlands, you can add a Windows Server licence for $25 a month at checkout.
In which locations can Windows be installed?
Finland, Germany and the USA (evaluation install at no charge), and the Netherlands (with a $25 a month licence).
How do I connect to a Windows server?
Over Remote Desktop (RDP) with the administrator details we send you. Use a strong password and limit RDP to your own IP addresses if you can.
What is the difference between a dedicated server and a VPS?
A VPS is a virtual machine that shares a physical server with others. A dedicated server is the whole physical machine, so all its CPU, memory, disks and network capacity are yours.
How fast is a dedicated server delivered?
Auction servers are ordered and set up automatically: the datacenter hands the machine over within minutes to a few hours, then the system is installed. Other configurations are set up by our team; each location shows its delivery time, up to 72 hours.
Is there a setup fee?
Some configurations have a one-time setup fee, shown on the plan before you order; many have none. Use the free-setup filter to see only those.
Can I install Windows Server?
Yes. In Finland, Germany and the USA we can install the Windows Server evaluation (trial) version at no charge; to keep using it after the trial, activate it with your own licence. In the Netherlands, Windows Server is available with a licence for $25 a month, added at checkout. Linux is available in every location.
What if my server stops responding?
You can reboot it remotely and use a remote console to fix it. The exact tools depend on the location; open a support ticket and we will help.
Is DDoS protection included?
Yes, 200 Gbps of DDoS protection is included. If you need more, 1 Tbps ($20/month), 1.5 Tbps ($35/month) or 2 Tbps ($40/month) can be added at checkout.
Which payment methods do you accept?
Cryptocurrency through our payment gateways, or your ClientVPS account balance. You can pay monthly, quarterly or yearly; yearly billing saves 15%.
Can I cancel, and are dedicated servers refundable?
You can cancel at any time from your client area. Cancellation is immediate: the server and its data are deleted at once. As our Terms of Service explain, dedicated servers are not refundable.
